Module 2 - The Patient’s Assessment
Course Information
Objectives:
The general objective of this module is:
- Train students in the use of instruments to assess the nutritional status of patients with obesity and eating disorders (EDs)
Specific objectives:
- Know the methods and criteria used in the assessment of the nutritional status
- Apply, analyse, and interpret the anthropometric method
- Analyse and interpret clinical and biochemical indicators of nutritional status
- Apply and interpret dietary intake assessment methods
Estimated time:
- 2 lecture hours + 2 seminar hours + 9 individual study and preparation of assignments, self-evaluation
Acquired competences
At the end of the course, the students will be able to:
- Recognize diverse techniques and approaches in the nutritional assessment of patients with obesity and eating disorders
- Apply, analyse, and interpret anthropometric, biochemical, clinical, and dietary parameters
